Dr Kalpana Chauhan Bio
Dr. Kalpana Chauhan (M’13-SM’17) graduated in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The College of Engineering Roorkee, India. She received her M. Tech degree in Control and Instrumentation Engineering from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar, India and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India. Presently, she is working as Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Central University of Haryana, Mahendargarh, India. She has worked as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology Greater Noida. Dr. Chauhan worked as Dean (Research) at the SIRDA Group of Institutions Sundernagar, India (2013-2017). She has also worked as Visiting Scientist in the Center for Electromechnics at the University of Texas at Austin, USA.Dr. Kalpana Chauhan received the Young Engineering Award (Electrical Engineering) from the Institution of Engineers (India) in 2018-2019 and Award of Honor from The Institution of Engineers (India), Shimla Section 2019-20. She also Best Paper award in 8th IEEE Colloquium on Signal Processing & Its Applications (CSPA 2012), held in Melaka Malaysia during 23 to 25 March 2012 and International Conference on Methods and Models in Science and Technology (ICM2ST-11), and held in Jaipur in Nov 2011. She has also received Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) Fellowships for pursuing M.Tech (2007) and Ph.D. (2009). She has been awarded for the IEI young engineer award (Electrical Engineering) 2018-19. She also been awarded with DST WOS-A fellowship.
She has been Editor of 3 books (01 IET, 02 Elsevier) and author of 10 book chapters. Moreover, she has been authoring of 22 publications in international journals, 18 publications in conference proceedings. She has been filled and published four patents in India. She has a project funding of 1 million rupees from Government of India for her project electric vehicle charging station at Central University of Haryana, Mahendargarh. Dr. Chauhan is the counsellor and advisor of IEEE student branch and student branch WIE affinity group at the Central University of Haryana, Mahendargarh, India. She is a lecture of IEEE IAS Young Professional and CMD Alumni.
Her special field of interest included DC Micro-grid, Energy storage, Electric Vehicles, Building Automation System, Industrial Automation and Control, Medical Image Processing. She is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Member of the International Association of Engineers (IAENG) Hong Kong, International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology (ICASIT) Singapore, The Institution of Engineers (India), Institute of Doctors Engineers and Scientists (IDES), Associate member of The Institution of Engineers (India).
She is an Editor of International Journal of Advanced Computer Science and Information Technology, Switzerland, Member of Scientific Committee, International Engineering and Natural Science Conference (IENSC2018), held on November 14-17, 2018 in Diyarbakir, Turkey. She is also a member of the review board of various journals of the reputed society such as Elsevier, Springer and IEEE.
